Our Impact
The mission of Betty J. Borry Breast Cancer Retreats is to
support, empower and enhance the quality of life
for women of all ages and stages of breast cancer
through adventure based support opportunities in a retreat environment.
Our Vision:
Since 2002, Betty J. Borry Breast Cancer Retreats has been dedicated to fostering hope and enhancing the quality of life for breast cancer survivors. Our goal is to further Betty's legacy of support and empowerment for women with breast cancer, especially those from underserved communities, by providing additional opportunities for New England area women with breast cancer to connect, challenge themselves physically as well as emotionally, and discover the joy and healing power of nature.
Our Values:
We welcome women with breast cancer from all walks of life, who are at any age or stage in their cancer journey. Our priority is to provide an inclusive, comforting and rejuvenating experience for women so that they can harness the healing power of nature on their journey from surviving to thriving.
What our participants are saying…
After my diagnosis in January 2023, I felt scared and in a sense, alone. Betty J. Borry Adventure Retreats gave me the opportunity to meet women with breast cancer, and made me feel that I was a part of something greater than my own illness.
Sharing our stories with one another, openly talking about our cancer almost immediately, like we had known each other forever. We were different and each of us had a unique story sharing everything including supportive words of kindness and understanding. All of this support not only made the retreat leave me with a sense of security, it made me feel that I was not alone.
The weather didn't cooperate, and the adventure had to change, so the BJB as well as the camp facilitators really did a great job on a beautiful campus. I wouldn't trade my time with them. Because we came in as strangers and left as sisters.
