Betty J. Borry Breast Cancer Retreats

It is with a heartfelt mix of gratitude, reflection, and bittersweet emotion that we share the news that our journey as a nonprofit organization is coming to an end. Betty J. Borry Breast Cancer Retreats (BJBBCR) will conclude our remarkable chapter following our 30th Anniversary Adventure Weekend Retreat, which will take place in June. While this marks the end of an era, it is also a time to celebrate the incredible legacy we have built together—a legacy of strength, sisterhood, and unwavering support.

For 30 years, BJBBCR has stood as a beacon of hope and empowerment for women facing the profound challenges of breast cancer. What began as a vision to provide a safe space for healing and renewal has blossomed into a vibrant community that has touched countless lives.

Through courageous hikes in the mountains, tranquil paddles on peaceful waters, and heartfelt conversations around the campfire, we have laughed, cried, healed, and grown—side by side. Every retreat was more than just a weekend away; it was a place where strangers became sisters, fears turned into triumphs, and resilience was rediscovered.

As we prepare to say goodbye, we want to take a moment to cherish every memory, every effort, and every individual who has been part of this incredible journey. From our dedicated volunteers and facilitators who poured their hearts into each retreat, to our generous supporters who made it all possible, to the brave participants who trusted us with their journeys—your contributions have been the heartbeat of BJBBCR.

As we embark on this farewell journey, we hope you will walk with us, celebrate with us, and remember with us. Though the retreats may come to an end, the friendships, memories, strength, and spirit of BJBBCR will continue to live on in each of us. Rest assured, we are working hard to find a new home for these retreats and honor Betty's legacy through a collaborative effort with another organization.

We would love to hear from you! Share your favorite BJBBCR moments, your personal journey, and what this community has meant to you. Whether in person at our final retreat, through messages, or on social media, your voices will be the most beautiful tribute to all we’ve built. Our public and private Facebook pages will continue to remain active so that we can all stay connected.

If you have any questions, wish to participate in our final retreat, or simply want to connect, please reach out to us at director@bjbbreastcancerretreats.org. Currently, our plan is to be working until later this summer and we will be sure to update you at that time with a forwarding email address to stay connected with our BJB community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of this extraordinary story. We know that Betty would be so proud of all we accomplished. Together, we have created something truly special—a legacy of hope, healing, and unbreakable bonds. Let’s come together one last time to celebrate Betty and all that this organization has meant to us.
